The petition was received by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Isaac Asiamah, when the former boxer called on him at his office.
The details contained in the petition are unknown.
Mr Asiamah, however, assured the former world featherweight champion that the Akufo-Addo government will serve Ghanaians and especially individuals like him who have contributed to marketing the country positively on the international stage.
According to Mr Asiamah, D. K. Poison expressed his appreciation to the government and the ministry for their efforts at helping retired sports personalities like him and urged that it continues.
