“Some people went on social media to paint a picture that four-to-five-year-old kids will be taught vagina and penis. The CSE is not an entirely new animal we are confronted with.
“If someone is gay, it bothers on something. If there are many women around why should I go for my fellow man? I really don’t get the point. The kids are not being taught to become gays or lesbians,” he said on Joy News’ political programme, News File, on Saturday.
The veteran journalist said the issues could have been resolved and clarified easily but the government failed woefully in explaining the CSE.
The Ministry of Education and the government have come under severe public backlash in the past week after news broke of the introduction of the CSE in schools in Ghana.
In response, Mr Baako said “the distortions are deliberate. Why are people running away from a distortion? Some people have transformed the CSE into a ‘caricature.’ And they have invited us to interrogate. Ordinarily, you would treat that with contempt,” he said.
