The 18-year-old midfielder has joined a Spanish’s top-flight club EDF Logroño as her first experience abroad.
She completed the deal in August but joined the Black Queens for their 2020 Tokyo Olympics qualifier two-legged ties against Gabon, which the Queens won 5-0 on aggregate.
The enterprising midfielder won the National Women's League title twice with Ampem Darkoa Ladies in 2015-16 and 2016-2017 seasons.
Asantewaa has represented the country in the FIFA U17 and U20 Women's World Cup finals. She has six international caps and scored two goals for the Black Queens.
She was nominated for the Best Female Footballer of the Year gong at the 2018 Ghana Football Awards alongside Northern Ladies star Mukarama Abdulai and Hasaacas Ladies midfielder Janet Egyir. Read Full Story
