Egyir is in competition with Northern Ladies forward Abdulai Mukurama and Ampem Darkoa Ladies striker Grace Asantewaa at the event which will be held at the Marriot Hotel in Accra.
The former Hasmal Ladies number 4 had a stellar campaign in the year under review for the awards scheme.
Janet, 27, helped Hasaacas Ladies to win the Normalisation Committee-organised Women's Special Cup, her fourth national trophy with Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies, which helped them to stretch the margin as the best women's team in the country.
Janet also gave a good account of herself during the 2018 African Women’s Cup of Nations although Ghana crashed out in the group phase.
She was twice voted the Player of the Match as Ghana clinched bronze in the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone B Tournament in Abidjan in games against Senegal and Mali.
She currently plies her trade with former Hasmal Ladies and Black Queens teammates Samira Suleman and Linda Eshun at Afturelding FC in Iceland.
On the other hand, Mukarama also had a great year after her exploits at the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Uruguay where she won the Adidas Golden Boot award as the tournament’s top scorer with seven goals as well as the Adidas Golden Ball as the competition’s third Best Player.
Mukarama, 16, was part of the Black Queens squad that won bronze at the just-ended West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone B Women’s tournament in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. Read Full Story
