Daniel Amartey returns to the pitch

Ghana international, Daniel Amartey, made his debut appearance for Leicester City for the first time in eight months after recovering from a broken leg in October last year. The 24-year-old’s season was truncated from a horrific injury he sustained while playing for his side against West Ham United in the Premier League.

Amartey had to spend several weeks in the treatment room and missed Ghana's participation in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

However, the player seems to have fully recovered and begun playing for his club in their preseason matches.

Last Tuesday, Leicester manager, Brendan Rodgers handed the centre-back an opportunity to make his debut since he returned to fitness by playing in their game against Scunthorpe United.

His recovery appears to have excited the manager who has refused to sign a new centre-back for next season despite Manchester United’s interest in one of the Foxes’ central defenders, Harry Maguire.

“I’m very happy with the players that we have,” the manager said after Leicester City’s pre-season game.
