Amartey had to spend several weeks in the treatment room and missed Ghana's participation in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
However, the player seems to have fully recovered and begun playing for his club in their preseason matches.
Last Tuesday, Leicester manager, Brendan Rodgers handed the centre-back an opportunity to make his debut since he returned to fitness by playing in their game against Scunthorpe United.
His recovery appears to have excited the manager who has refused to sign a new centre-back for next season despite Manchester United’s interest in one of the Foxes’ central defenders, Harry Maguire.
“I’m very happy with the players that we have,” the manager said after Leicester City’s pre-season game.
