Commey, who landed in Ghana last Monday after his first title defence, will be training to keep himself fit ahead of a mandatory second title defence against the winner of Teofimo Lopez and Masayoshi Nakatani on July 19.
The 32-year-old Ghanaian will spend some time with his family in Ghana before concentrating on his next fight which is expected to take place later this year.
According to the Manager of Commey, Michael Amoo-Bediako, he will join his boxer in the country from the United Kingdom upon which they will meet the press on the way forward for the IBF titlist.
Mr Amoo-Bediako explained that his boxer needed to take some rest in Ghana with his family and friends in order to release some stress before preparing adequately for his next bout.
“Richard Commey has arrived in the country to spend some time with his family and friends and I will be joining him soon,” he told the Graphic Sports in an interview.
“We have a plan to meet the press when I arrive and we will tell the entire nation our plans for the future and upcoming bouts,” he added.
Commey earned an eighth round victory over Mexico’s Beltran at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California after recording four knockdowns.
