The senior national soccer team have been camping in Dubai- preparing feverishly for the Africa Cup of Nation (AFCON) tournament, which starts from June 21.
Annan, in an interview with Graphic Sports, said the attitude of the players was commendable and was optimistic it could help them achieve something greater.
'' I must say we the players are very united in camp. Currently, we are supporting each other and encouraging one another.
“Contrary to speculation that there was some uneasiness in camp, I can say confidently that we are so strong and determined to forge a united front to pursue our goal of going all the way in the AFCON.
“I am sure with the kind of togetherness we have demonstrated so far, we could achieve something huge," he asserted.
The Kumasi Asante Kotoko player who will make his first AFCON debut in June has two national caps, both of them being friendlies -- the first was against his own team, Kotoko, and the other against Mauritius at the Accra Sports Stadium last March.
The 24-years-old further told this paper that they were having intense training in camp.
“The coaches have been serious on us, the training regimes are very intense and we the players are working hard and very determined,” Annan noted.
Currently, Coach Kwasi Appiah has 28 players at the training base following an injury sustained by Nuhu Musah, the Switzerland-based St Gallen FC player, last Wednesday. He has thus been sent back to Switzerland for treatment. Read Full Story
