Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani on Wednesday, Mrs. Kyere-Boakye said teachers were also entrusted to protect school children from harm, by diligently developing interest, going closer and and by spending precious time with pupils and students.
She cautioned that kidnappers were around, and advised school children to avoid gift offers and free ride from strangers.
Mrs. Kyere-Boakye also entreated parents and guardians to monitor the movements of their children and wards, and provide them with basic educational materials to sustain their interest to stay in school.
She warned teachers against absenteeism and tasked basic school Heads to impose sanctions on truant teachers or report them to the Directorate.
She commended teachers engaged under the Nation Builders Corps (NaBCo) for their level of punctuality and discipline and asked them to continue with dedication to impact positively on pupils and students. Read Full Story
