Reports had claimed that the club has been sold to the Tamale South MP after attempts by John Paintsil to take over the club hit a snag.
The reports had claimed that the Tamale South MP is moving the club from Wa to Tamale after the purchase, a claim which is also untrue according to the club’s General Manager.
Speaking to FootballMadeInGhana.com, Obiri Yeboah revealed that there have been contacts from the Member of Parliament for Tamale South through his aides but no agreement has been reached.
“There’s been an attempt from the Hon. MP but nothing has been agreed upon. In fact, he has written to us officially, expressing his interest in buying the club but we are yet to respond,” he said.
He, however, expressed shock as to why the media have sold the club without the owner of the club doing the selling.
“I was surprised myself when I saw the reports that the club has been sold.
“In fact I am in charge of every administrative step of the club and at least I should be in the known when the media is selling the club. But I don’t know anything about outright sales,” he laughed.
Wa All Stars was earlier reported to have been sold to former Ghana international John Paintsil but the reports later proved to be false and it will not be surprising to see the latest sales report falling flat like the previous one.
