One of the key musicians who has expressed a keen interest to lead the group in the coming days, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley is seriously discrediting and requesting that one of his likely key opponents, Appiah Dankwah, popularly known as Appietus should not contest in the elections slated for June 26 this year.
Speaking of TV3 “New Day” breakfast show, the highlife legend stated that if Appietus has any plans to lead any sort of union it should be that of sound engineers and not for musicians, which is what MUSIGA is.
He stressed that the president of the Musicians Union of Ghana should by one that is a musician and not someone who sits behind the scenes and work for the songs to become whole.
When the host also pointed out that even though Appietus is known to be a sound engineer, he has been associated with musicians all his life, manage some of them and has on some occasions even dropped some lines on songs, the ‘Simi Rap’ hitmaker still insisted he does not deserve to become the president of MUSIGA.
