Ghana will be without Gyan, 33, for the match against their Kenyan opponents on Saturday, 23 March 2019.
“If Asamoah is not being called, it’s time for someone to also be in his shoes but it’s a challenge for whoever will wear that shoe. Asamoah has created a big vacuum. We haven’t gotten a replacement for Asamoah after all these years because there is no consistency [from other strikers],” Bekoe told Class 91.3FM.
He added that: “It’s a challenge to the strikers, who have been called to prove to Ghanaians or Asamoah that now you can go and relax. Until then, I will still call Asamoah to join the team if am a coach. Even if not to play, to motivate”.
