Speaking at the launch, Chief Executive Officer, Yolanda Cuba, said although the realization took a while and lots of determination, she was happy that the 4G services by Vodafone Ghana is finally here.
She assured that the latest added service will only provide customers with better speed and services
“This 4G investment is one of our biggest investment. It is also one of the biggest achievements outside the people I have worked. It let us enter the real world of data and using data for the betterment of the people of Ghana.”
She was, however, confident that the new CEO Patricia Obo-Nai will take the company to greater heights.
Director General, of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Joseph Anokye, said as the regulator responsible for the telecommunications industry, Vodafone’s 4G entry comes at an era where everyone and everything is data connected.
“The demand for faster and more stable connectivity is growing due to the increased use of applications that rely on data. Many applications need to communicate in rare, therefore a strong network connection has become essential requirement in our society,” he noted.
Mr Anokye said NCA expects that the demands and expectations for consumers will be met nationwide.
He called for a fast rollout of the new service so major cities across the country can get access to the new data experience.
Communications Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekufful, while congratulaing Vodafone, said the launch is a timely moment for the industry as her Ministry stakeholders and partners who are ready to invest in the telecommunications sector.
