The 16-year-old has already started training with the Austrian Bundesliga side as he hopes to convince the technical handlers.
The source revealed that Forson arrived in Austria to begin training with the Bundesliga club last month.
"He [Amankwah Forson] left the shores of Ghana few days ago to train with Red Bull Salzburg," a close source told Kickgh.com
"Red Bull Salzburg will keep him until he turns 18 to sign a professional contract if he convinces the coaches at the club during the trial sessions"
He came on in the 60th-minute in Salzburg's 3-2 win over Vorwarts Steyr in a club friendly Friday night.
Red Bull Salzburg already have four Ghanaian footballers namely Samuel Tetteh, Gideon Mensah, David Atanga and Majeed Ashimeru who have been loaned out to clubs in Europe.
