The objective of the Expo will be to meet and recruit Ghanaian parents, students and families, to some of the top boarding schools in the UK.
Specifically, parents and their wards would be able to discover at first hand, what boarding school life is like, what these schools have to offer and discuss career development and subject options.
The event is organised by Everythings Education, an educational consultancy with extensive experience in placing African children in top UK boarding schools.
This year, the British Boarding school Expo is supported by the Africa office of the Royal Commonwealth Society, the leading Commonwealth organisation in the areas of education and literacy programmes such as the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition.
Millfield School
Speaking to the press, Elaine Cunningham – Walker, Chief Executive Officer of Everythings Education explained: “UK Boarding Schools are a popular choice for Ghanaian parents because it gives their children a rounded global education and exposure to different cultures, friends and networks.”
She added, “Choosing the best fit for a child is a significant and daunting task. Sometimes you do not even know where to start. And that is why these top schools are coming to Accra to meet families face to face on February 15 – 17, 2019”.

According to the German-based International Consultants for Education and Fairs, Ghana’s well-performing economy, together with its growing middle class means that Ghana has fully joined the major players like Nigeria and Kenya, in sending students to top UK Boarding schools.
Queen Anne’s School
Proponents of UK boarding education point to the many confident former students, including Ghana’s current President Nana Akufo-Addo, who have are leaders today in various fields such as politics, business, the arts, law, military, science and engineering, to name but a few.
Ms. Cunningham – Walker attributes the success of these former students to: “a bespoke academic, confidence - building, nurturing, and all rounded education that these tested institutions provide.

The Expo begins with a networking event at the main auditorium of the British Council in Accra on February 15 from 5 pm – 8 pm.
