In a bulk SMS to graduands, the Registrar informed them nothing has changed.
KNUST, and its affiliate, Africa Institute of Sanitation and Waste Management who were defendants in court have been injuncted from conducting graduation ceremony and/or convocation slated for Friday, February 1 and Saturday, February 2, 2019 without the inclusion and the issuance of certificate to the plaintiff, an aggrieved student.
His Lawyer, Mr Sarblah argues that the fundamental human rights of his client have been trampled upon.
The plaintiff is a legitimate student of the Africa Institute of Sanitation and Waste Management affiliated to the KNUST after fulfilling all entry requirements and enrolling on October 8, 2015.
He was admitted into a five-month post graduate diploma in Urban Planning Environmental Sanitation and Waste Management.
He was scheduled to graduate and receive certification in November, 2017, according to an attestation letter handed him on August 29, 2017.
However, KNUST has failed, refused and neglected to graduate and certify the plaintiff for a programme that cost him GH¢25,000.
After several attempts to solve the matter, he has placed an injunction on the Special Congregation of the University to take place this weekend. But from all indications, it would still go on in defiance of the court injunction. Read Full Story
