The event which was also used to make a toast to the New Year, provided the avenue for Corporate Ghana personalities and partners within the CCIFG’s extensive network to reflect and celebrate the growth of the Chamber.
The 5th anniversary which was launched in partnership with Auto Parts Limited at a cocktail ceremony in Accra Thursday.
Speaking at the event, President of the CCI France Ghana, Celestino Alvarez Neria assured members of the chamber’s commitment to having positive impacts on businesses particularly this year, as it celebrates its 5th anniversary.
He said, the CCIFG has outgrown its network and has proudly become the leading European Chamber of Commerce in Ghana with 137 members.
94 out of the 137 members are Ghanaians and the remaining 43 are French nationals.
Mr. Alvarez Neria is optimistic the membership of the CCIFG will increase by the end of the year in order to build a stronger network and business ties between France and Ghana.
“The French investment in Ghana as we all know represents a couple of million dollars year-on-year-on. We hope to increase this number to ensure the bilateral and commercial ties between France and Ghana continues on a high trend and we can achieve higher numbers at the end of this year,” he stressed.
According to him, the CCI France Ghana has boosted French investment in Ghana as it has supported hundreds of French companies prospecting the Ghanaian market over the years.
He said, they have also ensured that “Ghana is on the map of Ghanaian companies organising road shows in France”.
The CCIFG, he added, has also created platforms for various business moguls to network and share experiences and ideas.
He said, the prospect for the chamber in 2019 is full of positivity and a lot of surprises for its members as the CCIFG celebrates its 5th Anniversary.
According to him, the commemoration of the anniversary will be marked with the ‘French Chamber of Commerce Gala Night’ which is the major event for the celebration.
The French Chamber of Commerce Gala Night is scheduled for March 14, 2019 and will be attended by prominent French and Ghanaian personalities including the French Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Anne Sophie AVÉ and the Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
French Ambassador to Ghana, Anne Sophie AVÉ also commended the CCIFG for being resolute to deepening the diplomatic relations between Ghana and France.
She said, the CCI France Ghana remains a strong business community in Ghana and assures both Ghanaian and French business owners of that the Chamber will keep exploring means to maintain its lasting legacy.
“We’ve made the CCI the leading European Chamber of Commerce in Ghana. The achievements relive strong expectations for France and from what I know, I can assure you that the CCI team is constantly seeking ways to live up to it. After five years, we’ve become a strong business community where Ghanaian and non-Ghanaian businesses are represented by an equal number,” says the Ambassador in a speech delivered on her behalf.
She reiterated the CCIFG’s commitment to strengthening the bilateral ties between Ghana and France as she strongly believes promising times lie ahead for the two countries.
According to Ambassador Anne Sophie AVÉ, the business ties between Ghana and France has deepened rapidly over the last two years with support from the CCIFG.
“Over the last two years, the number of friendships there is has surged from 40 to 65… Ghanaian companies willing to promote their products and services in France can now get assistance from the CCI,” she stressed.
