His assertion is contrary to earlier media reports that the ‘classic’ customised car was gifted to him by President Akufo-Addo, who together with several other politicians, attended the ceremony held at the Gbewaa Palace, in Yendi.
News monitored on TV3 claimed that the Ya-Na in an interview debunked the report that the Jaguar was presented to him following a request he made to the President.
The Ya-Na is reported to have said he received the car with a surprise, expressing his excitement over the support ruling out the state from dashing him the car.
President Akufo-Addo was highly instrumental in restoring peace to Dagbon after 17-years of conflict in the area.
His commitment to ensuring that peace returned to the area led to the enskinment of the new Ya-Na who happens to be the 42nd Ya-Na in the history of the Dagbon State. Read Full Story
