Nurideen Iddrisu says the Ghanaian youth and businessmen deserve a place on the global stage, something that can only be achieved through a well-coordinated, thoroughly executed policy of empowerment.
This policy, he noted, will be executed by men and women who will put Ghana first without any parochial selfish interest.
"In my young life in politics I have led from behind with my ideas and finance; in my young life in business, I have witnessed growing disparities between Ghanaian businesses and their foreign counterparts.
“It is time to lead from the front and inspire Ghanaian businesses' Mr Iddrisu said this in a statement shortly after balloting for the flagbearers, Wednesday.
The 43-year-old businessman with a solid track record in banking and finance, oil and gas and construction picked the number two slot on the ballot, with an unalloyed hope of a political victory on February 23.
Mr Iddrisu is contesting six candidates all of whom he said are competent but his vision for growth and development stands tall.
According to him the current state of the party, as well as the country, does not inspire hope, adding, the journey to bringing back hope in the country begins with the election of Nurideen Iddrisu as flagbearer for the NDC.
He charged party members to make a choice with the development and future of the country at heart.
"On February 23, there can only be one choice- the choice to empower NDC and the Ghanaian youth," Nurideen Iddrisu said.
