The awards were presented by Faithful Servants Awards based in the US.
The awards ceremony was initiated by Bishop Kofi Adonteng Boateng, Founder of Divine Word International Ministry (DWIM) in the US to foster honesty and integrity in the Ghana Police Service.
Presenting the award on Friday, January 18, 2019 in Accra, Bishop Kofi Adonteng said the time has come to recognize hardworking and loyal individuals in the public sector in Ghana.
According to him, “A police officer, who works with the Tesano Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) and captured on the video refusing a bribe from a driver while on duty, as well as a journalist with the United Television (UTV), who made the story must be commended.”
Bishop Boateng also stated that the IGP’s competence is tremendously improving the Police Service and deserves to be commended.
The Deputy IGP James Oppong Boanuh, who received the award on behalf of the IGP, lauded the Faithful Servants Awards and Bishop Adonteng Boateng for recognizing the efforts of personnel of Ghana Police Service.
Mr. Oppong said that “other police officers must adopt this attitude to improve service delivery in order to help us achieve our mission of maintaining peace and security in society.”
He charged other police officers to emulate the shining example of Sergeant Felix Kwaku Tefe to serve the public diligently. Read Full Story
