John Dumelo quits NDC Ayawaso West Wuogon primaries

Actor John Dumelo who earlier picked nomination forms to contest in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) upcoming primaries in Ayawaso West Wuogon has thrown in the towel.

A statement signed by the Constituency Secretary said Mr. Dumelo and another candidate, Ewoenam Y. A. Attidokpo, withdrew from the race “due to some personal reasons.”

Eight persons had earlier expressed interest in contesting in the elections to lead the party in the constituency by-election in January 2019, but at the close of filing on Saturday, December 22, only three persons went through the process successfully.

The three are, Mr. Delali Kwasi Brempong, Mr. Ekwow Acquah and Madam Donna Selassie Agbo.

Three other candidates, Kojo Twum Boafo, Alhaji Isaah Kamara and Madam Catherine Abrokwa Mante, failed to file their nominations before the 5:00pm deadline. Read Full Story
