The Tuesday morning demonstration, themed “Tema Manhean deserves better” was well attended by residents of the area who complain they have only one access road link to the Metropolitan capital, Tema.
This they say causes heavy traffic on the stretch which frustrates them.
The demonstrators also say they have to travel a long distance to the Tema General Hospital to access proper health care.
They explain that the Manhean community which is estimated to have about eight thousand residents has a polyclinic they say it is not in good shape to properly cater for their health needs.
Public Relations Officer of the facility, Okoe Oninku Henry, told journalists they have adequate staff to run the polyclinic but lacked resources. He said the facility needs a face-lift, citing limited space and inadequate resources as some of the challenges.
The demonstrators who were holding placards with various inscriptions want the government to come to their aid as soon as possible.
