As part of their preparations, Kotoko have lined up two friendly matches against Premier League side Inter Allies on Wednesday and the Black Meteors on Sunday.
According to a statement by the club on Monday, Coach Charles Akonnor and his players will move their training base from the Zeytuna Park at Kasoa to Aburi after Wednesday's game with Inter Allies.
The choice of Aburi is to afford the players to prepare under conditions similar to the altitude in Kenya, the likely venue for their next continental assignment.
“The team will play Inter Allies in a friendly at the Accra Sports Stadium at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, and drive straight to Aburi in the Eastern Region, after the match, for another training camp,” read a statement on asantekotoksc.com.
"Asante Kotoko will also play the Black Meteors on Sunday, December 9, 2018, and return to Aburi to continue with their preparations until they fly to either Kenya or Djibouti on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, for the first leg match.”
The Porcupine Warriors are billed to play the winner the first preliminary round clash between Kariobangi Sharks of Kenya and Alter Solar of Djibouti, with Sharks taking a 6-1 lead from the first leg.
The first leg game in either Kenya or Djibouti has been slated for either December 15-16, with Kotoko expected to depart Accra on December 12, according to the statement. Read Full Story
