Agbeko, who held the IBF crown from 2007 to 2009, said the undefeated Dogboe would enjoy a long reign in his division because he Agbeko did not see any opponent within that class who was capable of stopping the champion.
Dogboe (20-0, 14 KOs) is currently in the United States of America preparing feverishly for his upcoming second WBO World super bantamweight title defence against Mexico’s Emanuel Navarette at the Madison Square Gardens in New York on December 8.
Touching on the Dogboe’s second title defence next week, Agbeko explained to the Graphic Sports that it would be a tall order for the Mexican challenger to defeat Dogboe because he believed the champion would be too hot to handle.
“At the moment, Dogboe is hotter than any other opponent in his division and I don’t see any of the fighters defeating him in about. He is the best in the super bantamweight division.
“With his determination and focus, he will reign for a long time in his division and I don’t think Navarette can stand up to him in their upcoming fight,” Agbeko said.
“I can assure you that it will be a convincing win for Dogboe and I challenge him to go all out to dominate Navarette just as he did in his last fight against the Japanese [Hidenori Otake],” he added.
Dogboe will be making his fourth and final ring appearance this year against Navarette having already dispatched the likes of Cesar Juarez, Jessie Magdaleno and Hidenori Otake.
The 24-year-old Ghanaian will be looking forward to a successful title defence on December 8 in order to put his best foot forward for a possible unification bout with either WBC champion, Rey Vargas, or WBA titlist, Daniel Roman, next year.
When asked about Dogboe’s chances in a unification bout against either Vargas or Roman, Agbeko said it was the best time for the WBO champion to challenge for the bigger fights and, “I support him to conquer the division”. Read Full Story
