Saka, who joined Karela from Aduana Stars in January, noted that he was in talks with several clubs across the continent and in Europe and could be moving out of the country in pursuit of a professional contract.
In an interview with the Graphic Sports, the former Aduana skipper said he was looking forward to playing regular football outside Ghana considering the current state of the domestic football which had been suspended since June in the aftermath of an expose on massive corruption in football administration which resulted in the suspension of all competitions locally.
He explained that more than five months of inactivity and uncertainty over the return of regular domestic competitions remained a problem for most footballers whose careers had been put in danger.
“I will be open to moving outside the country to enable me to play competitively considering the current situation here in Ghana.
“It has been very tough for every footballer here and I am ready to move abroad after my contract with Karena expires at the end of December,” Saka said.
The Premier League was suspended in June following an investigative piece by Anas Aremeyaw Anas on alleged corrupt practices involving some top football administrators, led by former Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi, and many match officials.
The expose also led to FIFA handing Mr Nyantakyi with a life ban from all football activities for engaging in acts in violation of the FIFA’s Code of Ethics, as well as the suspension of over 50 referees, some of whom had lifetime bans, after they were caught on camera accepting bribes to compromise matches.
