In a congratulatory statement to the party for what he described as a successful elections, Mr Sbaabe said: “The elections were keenly fought in every single region, giving a hint to how the 2020 elections will be fought in this country. The delegates chose those they think can lead the crusade but that doesn't mean those who lost have no roles to play.
“In some cases, the vanquished ones have more significant roles to play outside the executive circle and so by divine intervention, others were voted for, so, they could be available for these significant roles in helping to bring the NDC back to power.”
He added: “Those who won and those who couldn't make it must have a common opponent to fight now. We must not spend an ounce of effort fighting one another over comments made during the campaign period.
