Startimes refuses Anas rights to show GPL footage in 'Number 12' exposé

Broadcast firm StarTimes, which has exclusive television rights to Ghana football has written to Anas Armeyaw Anas’ Tiger Eye PI warning them not to show any footage of the Ghana Premier League in the yet to premiered Number 12 Exposé, which bordered on the rot, match-fixing and mal-administration in football under embattled GFA President Kwesi Osman Nyantakyi and others, according to Mynew GH.

StarTimes, which controls the television rights to the match footages, is reportedly refusing to release that footage to journalists so it can be analyzed to determine if indeed illegal payments to referees influenced tournament play.

According to a report by MyNews GH, the Anas exposé allegedly captures how football match scores are fixed ahead of the matches when monies exchange hands.

Allegedly, some big names are able to select and predict beforehand the particular teams they want to be relegated even before the first match of the league is played.

Tiger Eye PI wanted to show its audience particular footages of matches whose outcomes were pre-determined and how all the goals and incidents during the match, including referee collusion helped secure the scores.
