According to Police, a commercial Nissan Urvan vehicle with registration number AS 1569-Y, veered off into the opposite lane where it collided head-on with two other vehicles at about 8:30am on Monday.
The other vehicles, an Opel Astra taxi with registration number EA997-13, and a Toyota Highlander with registration number AS 9170-11, which have been mangled have both been towed to the Oforikrom Police Station.
Station officer at the Oforikrom Police Station, Chief Inspector Agnes Addai, who confirmed the incident to Citi News, said police have identified the deceased after they found a National Health Insurance identity card on him.
She said the body of the victim has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue (KATH), while the others who sustained serious injuries were rushed to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Hospital (KNUST) for treatment.
Chief Inspector Addai added that police are yet to inform the family of the deceased.
She also said the police “don’t actually know what caused the accident.”
