According to her, sanitation continues to remain the biggest bane that ought to be tackled to deal with the frequent outbreak of cholera and other communicable diseases.
Speaking as Chairperson at the One Ghana Movement action series on Tuesday, 27 February 2018, she bemoaned the fall of the country from 7th to 10th on the world's ranking on dirtiest countries.
She entreated government to have a proper sanitation plan and measures to deal with offenders who flout sanitation laws.
She further admonished government to have proper data with regard to the volume of refuse generated within a day and accordingly know how to manage these waste.
On his part, Accra Mayor, Mohammed Adjei Sowah, argued that, the governance structure has a compelling effect in tackling waste.
According to him, although he has a responsibility in dealing with filth, most people are oblivious of other agencies associated with handling sanitation and lump all issues to his office.
He revealed that the Kpone Land Fill site does not work throughout the day making it difficult to convey refuse collected at peak hours to be dumped at the location.
He added that decongestion exercises have its own peculiar challenges in ensuring utmost security to make it a success.
