Speaking at the launch of the event on Thursday at the media center at the MTN Office the President of SWAG, Kwabena Yeboah, stated that this year’s award ceremony will honor our heroes and heroines from 49 nominees, including individuals and institutions in 21 categories drawn from 18 sporting disciplines.
He also mentioned that there are talks to invite Liberian President George Oppong Weah as the Special Guest Honor for the event.
The Sports Personality of the Year was not revealed during the announcement and according to the President it will be announced at the night of the event.
