The two employees of Prestea Underground Mine (PUG), names withheld claims the victims might have died as a result of a ventilation failure underground.
Prestea Underground Mine is a subsidiary of Golden Stars Bogoso-Prestea Limited of the Western Region.
Our sources contacted the Community Affairs Manager of Golden Star Bogoso Prestea Limited, Mr. Robert Gyamfi in a telephone conversation, he admitted the two employees died yesterday when they were sent to hospital after work.
"We have the information of the death of two of our employees but we are yet to ascertain what caused their death.
Mr. Robert Gyamfi further added that the employees closed from work and went home and heard of their demise after they were rushed to the hospital.
Mr. Gyamfi assured us he will make the official position of the company public soon as the investigations conclude.
"As I speak to you the bodies have been conveyed to Takoradi hospital for an autopsy to confirm the cause of the death", he confirmed.
