LPG and diesel prices to go down December 1

Starting December 1, prices of LPG and Diesel at the pump will be reduced by 70 percent according to a Ministry of Energy document intercepted by GhanaWeb.com.

This means the price of a litre of Petrol is retained at GHC 12.00 cedis, whiles LPG and Diesel reduces from GHC 10.00 per litre to GHC 3.00 respectively.

In a statement signed by Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, he stated that the drop is “in line with Governments determination to ensure price stability with the view to giving comfort to the Ghanaian people.”

The Ministry also observed that the “Ex-Pump prices in Ghana is the price of petroleum on the international market.”

Exactly a year ago, under the previous government, John Mahama prices of Petroleum Products was also reduced on December 1st following an observation made by the Institute for Energy Security (IES), which predicted a marginal drop in petrol and diesel prices in Ghana.
