This is the second time Aduana Stars will be crowned GPL lords after they were led by the late Herbert Addo to win the trophy on their debut in the elite league seven years ago.
Aside the pomp and circumstance which will be associated with the celebration, the patron and bankroller of the club, Oseadeayo Agyeman Badu II, is expected to give the whole ceremony a royal touch with his presence, while the entire Dormaa-Ahenkro township will be is thrown into a carnival mood with music and dancing.
The newly crowned champions will engage neighbours Berekum Chelsea, who placed eighth in the just-ended league with 42 points, in a friendly encounter to mark the occasion.
After missing the title narrowly last season under Romania’s Cioaba Aristica, Aduana Stars appointed Coach Yusif Abubakar, who bagged 57 points from 30 matches with the unflinching support of the Dormaahene, his technical team and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Albert Commey.
The Dormaa-based club are already looking to the future with hope as they kick-start the upgrading of their home ground to meet the standards of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and help them achieve their CAF Champions League group stage target.
