Together with the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana(PfaG) he said, he would continue to support the player as the case is being challenged in court.
Bonsu was in June sentenced to two years in prison for raping and assaulting his wife. After serving his sentence, the 22-year-old who played for Gefle IF, will be expelled from the Scandinavian country where he has lived since 2013.
However, the case has been appealed after a video surfaced on social media, with the Swedish ex-wife, Marie Magnusson saying she only married the player for money.
The secretly recorded video was first shared on Instagram by Chibsah and provided a lead to the rocky relationship between the player and ex-wife.
Speaking to the media in Accra, Chibsah who has retired from football to pursue administrative duties with the PfaG said, they recently got the player a good Swedish lawyer to take up the case.
"We have also been involved in the player's activities and hope he would be set free as things leading to his arrest does not add up", he stated.
"The ex-wife cheated on him, they got divorced two years ago before coming out with the assault issue which she could not give specific date the incident happened", he added.
Chibsah said, they managed to gather some evidence against the ex-wife including the video and certain it would help make a good case.
He also advised players to be careful with the people they engage in a relationship especially in Sweden as they could land in similar situations.
