He received overwhelming endorsement of 28 votes representing 78% of the total valid votes cast as against 8 dissenting
The nomination of Musah Issah follows last month’s rejection of Abdulai Yakubu, a teacher by profession after he polled 9 votes against and 23 dissenting making him unfit for a second chance unless he is re-nominated by the president who has the executive powers.
Prior to voting, Deputy Northern Regional Minister Solomon Boar went into closed door meeting with the 32 assemblymen with the hope of convincing them to vote for the nominee but this appeared to have yielded little effort.
