The Miners had been going on a good patch in recent weeks and they started well with a 15th minute foal from Hans Kwofie. He scored his second of the the day in the 21st minute. Daniel Gozar completed the scoring in the 46th minute.
Hearts of Oak made light work of Elmina Sharks at the Ndoum Stadium by winning 2-0. The match was the first for Sharks since they asked coach Kwabena Amissah to stay away from the team for two league matches.
However, that decision could still not save them as they conceded goals from Thomas Abbey and Kwame Kizito in the 13th and 17th minutes respectively.
Asante Kotoko got their first win at home in 5 league matches after they beat Wa All Stars 2-1 in Kumasi on Saturday.
Obed Owusu and Yakubu Mohammed got the goals for Kotoko while Kweku Asuandzie got the consolation for All Stars.
Berekum Chelsea missed a late penalty in their 1-1 draw with Ebusua Dwarfs at the Golden City Park.
Dwarfs stunned the home crowd in the 54th minute when Nicholas Gyan scored his 10th of the season. Ten minutes later, Samuel Sarfo got the equaliser. Chelsea had a penalty in the 87th minute but Alfred Okai Quaye’s effort was saved by Dwarfs goalie Michael Abu.
The result was cheered by Dwarfs’ fans since it was the team’s first ever point gained at the Golden City Park in the league.
In Tema, Tema Youth beat Aduana Stars by a lone goal thanks to a 72nd minute penalty scored by Theophilus Ogoe.
