Late Politician Alfred Grant 's tomb turned into a drinking spot

Information reaching YEN indicates that the tomb of the founder of Ghana’s first political party, the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC), George Alfred Grant, who was popularly referred to as Paa Grant, has now been turned into a drinking spot.

This has left a sour taste in the mouths of many Ghanaians, as it is nothing less than gross disrespect for a statesman who paid his dues to mother Ghana. The director of Creative Arts, at the National Commission on Culture (NCC), Socrate Safo released the images on social media, after paying a visit to the site of the tomb at Axim, in the Western Region.

One is therefore left to wonder if such is the way the country could best honour the late politician’s memory.

He founded the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC), the country’s first political party, in 1947 with the aim of fighting for political independence.
