Speaking on GH One’s current affairs show ‘State of Affairs’, Dr. Kunbour asserted that due to the perception Ghanaians had about the NDC been the most corrupt government since Ghana’s independence, party members were drew to the attention and had several exchanges to pinpoint what actually caused the stigma though it was difficult to pinpoint whether there was corruption or not.
“It becomes difficult for you to say whether there was corruption or there wasn’t but as a matter of fact the perception of corruption was very high in this country. Whether that perception translated into the truth or not is another matter. You will not have the empirical evidence".
"But wherever you went this stigma or mar that was thrown at the government in terms of perceived corruption was very high and it permeated the entire system. And any colleague you ask, everybody was asking this question about how we came to inherit this whole notion of being the most corrupt government since Ghana’s independence started. So yes we have been having exchanges on a number of these issues” Dr. Kunbour asserted.
The NDC government while in power were accused by several organisations and opposition party members of being the most corrupt government ever to be in power since the era of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
The NDC lately have been reflecting on their loss trying to gather information across the country with a committee been setup to figure out what actually caused their defeat in the December 2016 elections.
