Ghana U-17 recorded two victories over FC Samartex 1996 in a friendly series played over the weekend as part of preparations for the 2026 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
The matches were played at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, where the Black Starlets displayed attacking quality and discipline.
In the first game, the Starlets produced a dominant performance to defeat Samartex’s junior side 6-0. Forward Aboagye Mark led the scoring with a hat-trick.
Abraham also found the net, while Gavi Robinho and David Ofori added their names to the scoresheet to complete the emphatic victory.
The second match was more competitive as the Starlets faced the senior team of Samartex. Both sides created opportunities in a closely fought contest.
However, the young Ghanaian side secured a 1-0 win after Gavi Robinho scored the decisive goal late in the match.
The two victories extend the team’s positive run of results in their preparation programme as the technical staff continue to assess players and refine tactics ahead of the tournament.
The friendly matches form part of a broader training schedule designed to improve match fitness, strengthen team chemistry and prepare the squad for the challenges of the upcoming Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
