Antoine Semenyo says adapting quickly has been key to his strong start at Manchester City following his January move from Bournemouth.
The Ghana forward has made an immediate impression since arriving at the Etihad Stadium, including scoring the decisive goal in City’s recent victory over Leeds United.
Semenyo explained that settling into a new environment and understanding the demands of coach Pep Guardiola have been central to his early performances.
“The hard work starts every day in training,” he said. “The boys make it easy for me to adapt because they try to play to my strengths. The coach is also helping me to stay confident, be calm in certain moments and arrive in the box to score goals.”
The attacker noted that his role at Manchester City differs from the one he played at Bournemouth, requiring him to operate higher up the pitch and often out wide in attacking phases.
“It’s all about adapting. I’m enjoying the process. Playing with world-class players makes me better and keeps me on my toes,” he added.
Semenyo admitted that adjusting to Guardiola’s tactical demands has not been straightforward but believes his versatility is helping him cope with the challenge.
Manchester City will look to maintain their momentum when they host Nottingham Forest on Wednesday evening.
