Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has announced that Ghana striker Antoine Semenyo is in line to make his debut for the club this weekend in the English FA Cup.
Semenyo, 26, officially joined the English Premier League giants on Friday, January 9, in a big move from fellow top-flight outfit AFC Bournemouth.
“Manchester City are delighted to confirm the signing of Antoine Semenyo from AFC Bournemouth.
“The 26-year-old has penned a five-and-a-half-year deal, which will see him stay at the Etihad Stadium through to 2031,” the club announced in an official notice.
Speaking on the new signing, Pep Guardiola praised his quality and indicated that the forward will be selected immediately for Manchester City’s next match against Exeter City in the FA Cup.
“He [Antoine Semenyo] will be selected [against Exeter]. I don't know if he'll start, but he’ll be selected,” Guardiola shared in a pre-match interview on Friday.
The FA Cup third round fixture between Manchester City and Exeter City is scheduled for a 3 pm kick-off at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, January 10.
