Ghana defender Maxwell Woledzi has named Black Sherif as his top artist for 2025, selecting the award-winning musician during an interaction on Nashville Sporting Club’s media platform.
He described the artist as the standout performer of the year, highlighting Sherif’s growing influence.
Black Sherif’s rise has been remarkable since the release of First Sermon in 2021.
His momentum has continued through multiple national awards, including Artist of the Year, Best Hip Hop Song of the Year and Most Popular Song of the Year in 2023.
His appeal has spread beyond Ghana, supported by nominations in several international categories earlier this year.
He also claimed the Collaboration of the Year Award at the 2025 Ghana Music Awards for his work with Kidi on “Lomo Lomo.”
Woledzi recently joined Nashville on a three-year deal after leaving Norwegian champions Fredrikstad FK.
The transfer was completed as the MLS season approached its conclusion. Nashville expect the Ghanaian centre-back to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new campaign.
The MLS Cup Final between Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami and Thomas Muller’s Vancouver Whitecaps is scheduled for Saturday, December 6, drawing significant global attention.
Woledzi arrives in the United States after an impressive year in Norway, where he won the league title and claimed the Player of the Year Award before earning his move to Nashville.
