The Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat hosted a key meeting between Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, and African Ambassadors accredited to Morocco, as preparations intensify for the continental competition.
Lekjaa delivered a detailed presentation on the progress of organisational work across infrastructure, logistics and coordination. He noted that Morocco is approaching the tournament with a unified vision inspired by the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, reaffirming the country’s strong connection to Africa. He said hosting the competition successfully would not only represent a national milestone but also a shared achievement for the entire continent.
The Ambassadors expressed satisfaction with the level of readiness, praising the coordinated efforts between Moroccan institutions. They highlighted the solid organisational framework that offers strong guarantees for a successful tournament in 2025.
To reinforce joint efforts, Lekjaa announced the establishment of a dedicated unit to ensure smooth communication and follow-up between the organising committee and African diplomatic missions. The structure will support administrative arrangements, team travel needs, accommodation logistics and related services.
Participants commended the rapid development of Morocco’s sports infrastructure and the continuous mobilisation of all relevant authorities. They noted that these factors place Morocco on course to deliver an exceptional edition of the tournament, reflecting a modern vision for major African sporting events.
In his closing message, Lekjaa reiterated that AFCON 2025 is a tournament for the entire African continent, assuring that Morocco remains fully committed to delivering a competition that matches the aspirations of Africa and meets the standards set by Royal directives.
