Sports Minister Kofi Adams has praised actor and football administrator Yaw Dabo for his growing influence in grassroots football development following a meeting held on Thursday.
The Minister described Dabo, founder of Dabo Soccer Academy, as a figure whose work is transforming the lives of young people across Ghana, particularly children from underserved communities. He noted that the academy has become a platform offering sporting opportunities, education and social support to children from orphanages and remote areas.
According to the Minister, Dabo’s efforts demonstrate a strong belief in the potential of Ghanaian youth and the power of sport to drive social change. He commended him for investing in the early stages of talent development, where support is often limited.
"Yaw Dabo is investing where many overlook, at the base of the pyramid, where hope is scarce yet talent is abundant. His dedication to identifying and nurturing young talent is commendable," a post on his official X page read.
Kofi Adams added that Dabo’s story reflects a commitment to action rather than words, describing his work as an example of how individual initiatives can contribute to national development.
He encouraged the public and stakeholders to recognise and support individuals who are using sport as a tool for transformation, noting that Dabo Soccer Academy continues to offer opportunities that help shape the future of young footballers.
