The head coach of Asante Kotoko, Abdul Karim Zito, has rallied his players to turn attention to their upcoming showdown against Medeama Sporting Club in the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors will host the Yellow and Mauves on November 30, in a Week 12 fixture of the ongoing league campaign.
Asante Kotoko head into the big game after losing 2-1 to Basake Holy Stars on Wednesday in their outstanding Week 3 league fixture.
Speaking in his post-match interview after the defeat, Karim Zito hinted at his team’s determination to beat Medeama SC in their next outing to return to winning ways.
He is confident that Kotoko can still win the 2025/26 league title despite the setback in the game against Holy Stars.
“Everybody wants to beat Kotoko. We didn’t play badly. We played good football, but putting the ball in the back of the net was once again the problem.
“This is football, we are playing at home on Sunday, the team that leads the table leads us by three points. So we are still chasing [the league title],” Karim Zito said.
The upcoming Week 12 fixture between Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC will kick off at 3 pm at Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
