Former Ghana coach Chris Hughton has described Tottenham Hotspur’s acquisition of Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus as excellent.
The former Ajax star joined Tottenham in the summer from fellow Premier League club, West Ham United, signing a long-term deal that will keep him at the club until 2030.
Since joining the club, the enterprising midfielder has clearly been a standout among other signings in terms of adapting to his new environment.
Hughton, who was shown the exit door as Ghana coach after AFCON 2023 has hailed Kudus’ move to the Lilywhites, insisting the club needed a player of Kudus profile.
"I think it was an excellent signing. The deal for Kudus made a lot of sense, especially from a financial perspective. Tottenham needed a player of his profile. It's a big stadium, a big stage in England, and he's started his Tottenham career very well. He fits seamlessly into a system that favors crosses into the box". He told Flashscore in an interview.
Kudus, who had a disappointing season after a promising start at West Ham, now looks fully revitalized at Tottenham.
Since his arrival, the Ghana international has racked up one goal and delivered five assists in 16 appearances for Tottenham under manager Thomas Frank.
