CF Montreal attacker Prince Osei Owusu has extended support to midfielder Francis Abu after picking up a nasty injury in the Kirin Cup clash against Japan.
Abu, who plies his trade for French Ligue 1 side Toulouse was handed a starting role as Ghana succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to the Asian giants last Friday.
Unfortunately, the enterprising midfielder suffered a horrendous broken leg in the match and had to be substituted in the second half.
However, Prince Owusu, who received his maiden Ghana call up in the current international break has extended support to the midfielder, while wishing him a speedy recovery.
“At the same time, my thoughts are with our teammate who suffered a serious injury during the match. I wish him strength and a fast, full recovery. We are all with you God bless you Francis” he wrote on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Francis Abu has successfully underwent surgery at the Toyota Memorial Hospital in Japan as he begins what is expected to be a lengthy rehabilitation process.
Francis Abu, widely regarded as one of Ghana’s bright midfield prospects, will now focus on recovery, with both club and country keen to see him return stronger in the months ahead.
