Black Queens coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren says he is delighted to reunite with his players as they prepare for Thursday’s crucial 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Egypt in Ismailia.
The Swedish tactician, who guided Ghana to a strong showing at the last WAFCON, expressed satisfaction with the team’s spirit and togetherness as they aim to book a place in the 2026 edition.
"It’s great to be back with the girls. It’s been too long since the great tournament that we had. We came together as a really strong group. We performed well on the pitch and had so much fun off the pitch as well. We are in a good place," Bjorkegren said.
The Black Queens will face Egypt in the first leg at the IsmailiaâSuez Canal Stadium before hosting the return fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
Bjorkegren is confident that his side’s unity and determination will be key as they seek to continue their resurgence under his leadership.
