Asante Kotoko coach Abdul Karim Zito has immediately shifted his team's focus to the Ghana Premier League, urging them to avoid any complacency following their successful CAF Confederation Cup outing.
The Porcupine Warriors secured a 1-0 victory over Kwara United in Nigeria to progress to the next round of the continental competition. Despite the achievement, Zito is adamant that the team must now concentrate fully on their domestic ambitions.
He explicitly warned his players to put the continental success behind them, using other Ghanaian clubs as examples of teams that were distracted by their continental commitments.
"Samartex had the same problem, Nsoatreman had the same problem," Zito stated. "So I told them for now, we are thinking of Heart of Lions; all that we did against Kwara United should be put aside. Kwara United is now history."
The coach directly linked the upcoming home game against Heart of Lions to the club's league title aspirations, making it clear that a win is non-negotiable if they are to achieve their goal.
