Ivory Coast will stage the WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship from September 20 to October 3, 2025, in Yamoussoukro.
The tournament will feature seven nations- Ghana, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin, Niger and hosts Ivory Coast- all competing for qualification to the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The regional showpiece is expected to highlight some of West Africa’s finest emerging talent, offering a stage for players who could progress to senior international level. With AFCON slots at stake, coaches and technical teams are stepping up preparations to ensure their squads are ready for the challenge.
Yamoussoukro, the political capital of Ivory Coast, is preparing to welcome teams, officials, scouts and supporters. Organisers say the tournament will not only serve as a pathway to continental football but also celebrate youth development and regional unity.
The WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship has a strong record of unearthing future stars who go on to shine on the global stage. Football fans across the sub-region will be watching closely as the next generation of African football talent takes centre stage in Yamoussoukro.
