Genk forward Christopher Bonsu Baah earns maiden Black Stars call-up
Christopher Bonsu Baah has received his first-ever call-up to the Black Stars for Ghanas 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.The 20-year-old forward, who plays for Belgian side Genk, has been rewarded for his steady performances in the Jupiler Pro League.Bonsu Baah has featured in 27 games this season, contributing three goals and three assists. A left-footed right-winger who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, his biggest strengths lie in his dribbling ability and confidence in one-on-one situations.During his time with Norwegian club Sarpsborg 08, he led the Eliteserien with 57 successful dribbles and created 10 chances before securing a move to Genk in 2023 on a five-year contract.The young attacker began his football journey in Ghana with Shooting Stars before making the leap to European football. Now, he has the chance to showcase his talent on the international stage as Ghana seeks to qualify for the 2026 World Cup after their disappointing failure to reach the 2025 AFCON.Ghana will host Chad on March 21 at the Accra Sports Stadium before travelling to Morocco to face Madagascar on March 24.
